Recent Research Applauds Use Of Probiotic Supplements
Recent research has led many health professionals to the belief that the daily use of probiotic supplements can be an important regimen toward increasing the body’s ability to fend off sickness. These probiotic supplements can help to favorably alter the gastrointestinal tract by providing helpful living organisms which can prevent bad bacteria from gaining superior numbers.
Why do we need probiotic supplements?
Surprisingly, the advance of modern science is the unwitting cause for today’s need for daily probiotic supplements. Almost every modern city has adapted drinking water treatments infusing chlorine and sodium fluoride into daily human consumption. These elements are present in commercially available drinks including much of the alcohol consumed today. Add to this the introduction of modern-day wonders like birth control pills and antibiotic medications, and the naturally occurring good bacteria, probiotics, become hampered, if not outright neutralized, resulting in a decrease in the body’s ability to fend off illness. Modern-day eating habits coupled with 21st century stress levels also play important roles denying the body’s ability to fight sickness.
The introduction of a probiotic supplement allows these living good bacteria to restore the level of balance in the human digestive system combating such ailments as diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, yeast and other fungal infections found in the urinary tract. The body does host normally occurring good bacteria, but as scientific progress marches toward the future, these same advances are making for a greater decrease in the body’s ability to use the natural immune system to fight illness. Thus, introduction of helper probiotic supplements will restore the efficiency of the immune system.
Is there a natural method to introduce probiotics?
Yes there is. However, naturally occurring probiotics – in foods such as yogurt – never guarantee what type strain of bacteria will be introduced into the body. Additionally, consumption of large quantities of foods containing probiotics may be not only uncomfortable, but costly as well. Additionally, since the introduction of antibiotic medications into human consumption, naturally occurring probiotics may not make it to the intestinal tract. Probiotic supplements, in the form of specially coated tablets, ensure the consumer that these pills containing helpful organisms will survive the journey. The human stomach is a great killing machine and provides the acid needed to kill off many organisms, never differentiating between which are good and which are bad. These helpful bacteria are particularly needed in the body’s colon but without use of tablet-form probiotic supplements, the necessary ingestion of natural probiotics might never help.
What will these probiotic supplements do?
First, they help to decrease, or inhibit, the growth of bad bacteria which, when occurring in greater numbers than the good, stop the body’s immune system from fending off illnesses. These probiotic supplements also act as helpers, improving the digestion of all types of food and aiding with the absorption of vitamins necessary for the body’s well being. These probiotic supplements also help the body produce vitamins.
There are a number of online sources for obtaining probiotic supplements. Make sure you do some comparison shopping to find a reputable source. And, as with anything medical, consult your family physician before using any supplement or procedure.
