In The Struggle Against Candida Probiotics Can Help

A diet high in sugar and other carbohydrates may produce a group of fungal infections referred to as candida, or candida albicans. The infections caused by this genus usually appear in the body’s intestinal tract, causing, among other irritations, headaches, fatigue, constipation and other digestive interruptions, along with skin disorders like rashes.

Although candida can, and does, occur normally in the body, an overabundance of this element is usually an indication that one’s immune system is on the fail or, at best, is working inefficiently. Normally occurring candida can grow and fester when fed by high-sugar and carbohydrate diets that go unchecked and unabated. Sometimes this happens with little, if any, fault on the part of a consumer due to personal sensitivities manifested in individual propensities for handling sugar infusions to the body. To further exacerbate the situation, it really doesn’t matter if the sugar is refined or unrefined. Artificial sweeteners, likewise, also can help feed yeast, candida and other fungal infections causing not only gastrointestinal discomfort but illness as well.

What can be done?

Forget about using antibiotics. These not only attack the harmful bacteria found in the intestinal tract, but indiscriminately kill off helper bacteria, or good bacteria. Instead, to get rid of candida probiotics can be called into action. Daily doses of probiotics are believed by many modern-day health professionals and researchers to be an effective tool toward ridding the system of an overgrowth of candida and other harmful bacteria. Another way to keep you from getting candida probiotics also help restore a balance between good and bad bacteria in the system, especially after antibiotic consumption aimed at controlling or eliminating an infection.

The best recommended probiotics should contain Lactobacillus, Bifobacterium and Acidodophilus. These elements help to compete against bad bacteria while aiding in the restoration of a balance in the gastrointestinal tract through creation of helpful vitamins like niacin, biotin, folic acid and pyridoxine, or B-6. These probiotics help to balance the acid to alkaline ratio in the digestive tract, helping rid the body of these harmful bacteria while producing favorable bacteria. These favorable bacteria, in turn, produce the enzymes that combat candida.

Additionally, there exist certain foods that aid in production of helpful bacteria. These include many high-fiber, low -starch vegetables like asparagus, radishes, celery and broccoli. Plus, steaming vegetables is an excellent cooking method that helps retain the necessary nutrients needed in the battle against candida. And, introducing into your diet other vegetable that hamper the growth of candida may be a wise choice for all seeking a healthier immune system. These foods include kale, turnips, cabbage, ginger root, garlic and onion. Research has led to the discovery that eating raw onion and garlic provide natural anti-fungal protection, also.

Add certain high-protein foods like non-processed fresh fish, organically-fed fowl, seeds, nuts and eggs helps. Don’t forget to put on your plate some excellent complex carbohydrate grains like millet, bans, rice, buckwheat and quinoa.

Your anti-candida diet also should include beneficial fruits like grapefruit, pineapple and all, and any, kinds of berries.
It has never been a big mystery that there is a connection between good health and a proper diet and lifestyle. Although a nutritional approach is important, adding probiotics supplements to your daily diet will help fight off candida and other fungal infections.

And, as with anything medical, please consult your family doctor before changing your diet or taking any supplements.
